Common questions
How does St. Lucia citizenship by investment work?
St. Lucia citizenship by investment works by granting you the country’s citizenship after making an eligible donation or investment and meeting the program requirements. Investment options include donations to a state fund, investment in real estate or approved enterprise projects, and purchase of a government-issued bond, with the minimum investment being USD 240,000. The program also allows you to include family members on your application.
What is the minimum investment for St. Lucia citizenship?
The minimum investment for St. Lucia’s CBI program is USD 240,000. The investment is a donation to the country’s National Economic Fund, and it allows applicants to include up to three more family members on their application. The remaining investment options are the National Bond Investment (USD 300,000), real estate projects (USD 300,000), and enterprise projects (USD 250,000).
Do you need to live in St. Lucia to get citizenship?
You don’t have to live in St. Lucia before applying for citizenship to be eligible for the program. However, after being granted the country’s citizenship, you will have to spend at least 30 days there in the first five years. This requirement is present in other East Caribbean CBI programs as well.
Does St. Lucia tax its citizens on foreign income?
Whether you’d be liable for personal income tax on foreign income as a St. Lucia citizen depends on your tax residence status in the country. As a tax resident and ordinarily resident in the country, you are liable for income tax on your worldwide income. If you’re not a tax resident, you are only liable for the tax on your St. Lucian income.
